Privacy policy
I know, I can feel your excitement at the word ‘policy’. I’ll keep this as brief as I can, but if you have any questions that aren’t answered here or want to make a complaint, you can contact me at kirsty@kirstymaraiscopywriting.com
How I collect your information
I collect information through the contact form on this site, or via email or phone, depending on how you choose to contact me.
If we’ve worked together, I’ll collect information during the course of our work as needed. I may also collect information via a feedback form that I’ll send you, if you choose to fill it out.
I don’t use Google Analytics and I’ve disabled analytics cookies on this website, which is powered by Squarespace. I have no great need for the data, and I don’t believe my curiosity trumps your right to browse anonymously.
What information I collect, and why
When you get in touch with me, I’ll ask for the minimum amount of personal information I need to be able to answer your query:
your name
your email address
your phone number (if you’ve called me or requested a call)
I’ll also ask for a few details about your project.
If we work together, I’ll collect your name, email address and phone number so I can complete the work we’ve agreed, along with any details I need for invoicing and admin.
I’ll also collect copies of:
Any agreements you ask me to sign (such as contracts or non-disclosure agreements).
Any documents you send me so I can work on your project.
Any work I complete for you, including draft versions and notes I take during meetings or research interviews.
Any invoices I send to you, and records of any payments you make.
If we’ve been in contact before, I may occasionally email you to let you know if I’m available for new projects, or to tell you about new services I’m providing. If you don’t want to receive those emails, just let me know.
How I store your information
If you fill out a form on my website or send me an email, I store this information in Google Mail.
If I complete any work for you, I store any documents I collect on my PC and in Microsoft OneDrive.
I may also store your name and contact details, along with information about how we’ve worked together in the past, or enquiries you’ve made about potential work, on a customer relationship database (using Notion).
I’m the only person with access to any third-party services I use to store information. I store all my passwords securely, and the devices I use are protected with passwords and biometric logins. Where possible, I also use 2-factor authentication.
